Tiny update...

Well, estrogen tested low on Sunday so they've doubled up on my repronex. Only have 8 follicles, which is really disappointing (and low for me) but it's still enough to go forward with the cycle. Also discovered a small cyst...a non factor, but definitely must be medication induced because I didn't have a single cyst going into this cycle (or ever for that matter).
Overall, a bummer day since everything looked great to start. At least my bloodwork today indicated that they've stabilized my estrogen AND it looks like we can still go forward with the retrieval next week...maybe this is normal and I just don't know it yet? Had visions of 15-20 follicles with quite a few eggs (in the hopes that we wouldn't have to go thru a retrieval again if this cycle doesn't take). SIGH...the ups and downs continue.

  1. I too had visions of many follicles, especially because we went into IVF for male IF. You can imagine my surprise when we had a cancelled cycle in August. I was also disappointed in my follicle progression during my current cycle (my estrogen was low and they upped me to 4 vials of menopur). We only had four retrieved and two fertilized, but that was enough to do the trick. It's quality not quantity. Right?

    Stay strong!

  2. Greetings!

I was so blessed to get on my blog page today and see that I had a new follower. Thanks so much, I am glad that you enjoyed my page and are wanting to follow our journey and story to get pregnant.

My husband and I have only been married since August, so it has just been a short time of trying to conceive. However, I was diagnosed with PCOS back when I was in college in 2001, so I have known for a while that getting pregnant might take some tinkering with as my doctor told me then.

Right now I am only on glucophage, actually the generic form, to balance my insulin levels. I am doctoring with my family doctor here and am looking for an OBGYN and possilby a fertility specialist, because I moved 3 hours away to make a new life with Scott. So, as you can see I am having to start the whole process over again.

We have a dog too and I call her my baby as well. Actually my husband calls her our four legged baby. We are hoping for the two legged kind soon. One that I have given birth to. I have to watch saying two legged kind because my sister-in-law is a chicken farmer and raises 58,000 chickens about every other month and calls them her babies. She jokes with her mom and dad about having a lot of grandchildren. :) They have a commercial chicken barn that a company in Wisconsin brings in 58,000 chicklets at a time, which they raise for about 34-35 days and then are sent away. After that, they get 3 weeks off and then they start all over again. :) Sounds like fun huh! :)

Thank you once again for wanting to follow my blog. It is a true blessing to always have new friends and support. My prayers are with you and your husband as your journey continues and hopefully soon will be fulfilled with miracles. :)

Have a wonderful New Year's Eve and New Years! I will look forward to following your journey and having your words of wisdom posted for me too. :)

    Many hugs, smiles and blessings,
    Stacey :)
